Ben Solo, better known as the dark warrior Kylo Ren, was a human male Force-sensitive who served as master of the Knights of Ren and, ultimately, Supreme Leader of the First Order before returning to the light shortly before his death. Born in 5 ABY on the Core World of Chandrila to General Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, he was the heir to the Skywalker bloodline and possessed immense raw power in the Force. Trained as a Jedi apprentice by his uncle, Luke Skywalker, during the New Republic Era, he was manipulated across his youth by the resurrected Darth Sidious and Sidious's creation, Supreme Leader Snoke, who lured him to the dark side and drove him to destroy Luke's fledgling temple. As Kylo Ren he hunted the last Jedi, killed his own father Han Solo, slew Snoke to seize command of the First Order, and clashed repeatedly with the scavenger Rey — with whom, unknown to either, he shared a rare dyad in the Force. Confronted by the memory of his father and Rey's compassion, Ben Solo rejected the dark side at the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, helped defeat the reborn Emperor, and gave his own life to revive Rey, ending the Skywalker line.

Ben Solo is born on the Core World of Chandrila to Han Solo and Leia Organa on the very day the Galactic Empire surrendered to the New Republic, ending the Galactic Civil War.

~28 ABY - Fall of Luke's Temple

As a young apprentice at Luke Skywalker's Jedi temple, Ben is preyed upon by Snoke and Sidious. A moment of fear from Luke drives him fully to the dark side; he destroys the temple, takes fellow students as the Knights of Ren, and becomes Kylo Ren.

34 ABY - Hunt for the Map to Skywalker

Now a commander of the First Order, Kylo Ren captures the pilot Poe Dameron and the droid BB-8 on Jakku while searching for a map to the exiled Luke Skywalker.

34 ABY - Death of Han Solo

Aboard Starkiller Base, Kylo Ren confronts his father Han Solo on a bridge and kills him in an attempt to cast off the light. He is then wounded in a duel with Rey in the surrounding forest.

34 ABY - The First Battle with Rey

Overpowered by the untrained scavenger Rey, Kylo Ren is scarred and forced to flee as Starkiller Base collapses, marking the beginning of his obsession with her.

34 ABY - Supreme Leader of the First Order

Drawn into a Force-bond with Rey, Kylo Ren brings her before Snoke, then kills Snoke and battles the Praetorian Guard alongside her. He proclaims himself Supreme Leader of the First Order but fails to turn Rey to his side.

35 ABY - Alliance with the Resurrected Sidious

Kylo Ren travels to Exegol and pledges himself to the returned Darth Sidious, taking command of the Sith Eternal's Final Order fleet while continuing to pursue Rey across the galaxy.

35 ABY - Redemption of Ben Solo

After Rey wounds and then heals him, and confronted by a memory of his father, Kylo Ren casts away his lightsaber and reclaims his identity as Ben Solo, rejecting the dark side for good.

35 ABY - Death at the Battle of Exegol

Ben Solo joins Rey against Sidious on Exegol. After the Emperor's final defeat, he uses the Force to revive a fallen Rey, sacrificing his own life force and passing away as the last of the Skywalker bloodline.
