Boba Fett's Timeline
Key Events in Boba Fett's Star Wars Story
Boba Fett was born in 32 BBY.
Boba Fett is a legendary bounty hunter and one of the most feared figures in the galactic underworld. He is an unaltered, unmodified clone of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, created on Kamino and raised by Jango as his son. Unlike his clone-trooper "brothers," Boba aged at a normal human rate and received no growth acceleration or behavioral conditioning. After witnessing his father's death at the Battle of Geonosis, he grew into a ruthless and highly capable hunter, wearing a customized set of Mandalorian armor and piloting the Firespray-class starship inherited from Jango. During the reign of the Galactic Empire he took contracts for both Darth Vader and the crime lord Jabba the Hutt, most famously capturing Han Solo. Presumed dead after falling into the Sarlacc pit on Tatooine, Boba survived, reclaimed his armor, and years later seized control of Jabba's former criminal empire, becoming the self-styled Daimyo of Mos Espa.
32 BBY - Creation on Kamino
Boba Fett is born as an unaltered clone of Jango Fett, given to the bounty hunter as unpaid compensation for serving as the genetic template of the Republic's clone army. Jango raises him as his own son on Kamino.
22 BBY - Encounter with Obi-Wan Kenobi
As a young boy, Boba is on Kamino when Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi investigates the origins of the clone army. He and Jango flee, engaging Obi-Wan's starfighter in a battle over Kamino and later in the asteroid field of Geonosis.
22 BBY - Death of Jango Fett at Geonosis
During the First Battle of Geonosis that ignites the Clone Wars, Boba watches as Jedi Master Mace Windu kills his father. He cradles Jango's empty helmet, an event that shapes his lifelong bitterness.
~21 BBY - Vengeance against Mace Windu
Now orphaned, Boba infiltrates a Republic cruiser under a false identity, seeking revenge on Mace Windu. His plot fails and he is captured, falling in with bounty hunters such as Aurra Sing and Bossk.
~3 BBY - Rise as a bounty hunter
Over the following years Boba builds his reputation across the criminal underworld, taking on his father's armor and ship and becoming one of the galaxy's most feared hunters during the Imperial era.
3 ABY - Hunting the Millennium Falcon
Darth Vader hires Boba among a group of bounty hunters to track the Millennium Falcon. Boba trails the ship to Cloud City on Bespin.
3 ABY - Capturing Han Solo
At Bespin, Boba claims the carbonite-frozen Han Solo as his bounty and transports him aboard his ship to deliver him to Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine.
4 ABY - Fall into the Sarlacc
During the battle at the Great Pit of Carkoon, Boba is knocked into the Sarlacc's pit after Han Solo accidentally strikes his jetpack. He is presumed dead by those present.
~4 ABY - Escape from the Sarlacc
Boba survives the Sarlacc, clawing his way out of the pit, though he loses his armor to Jawa scavengers and is left near death in the Dune Sea.
~9 ABY - Reclaiming his armor
Boba tracks down his Mandalorian armor, which has passed to the Mandalorian Din Djarin, and allies with him to rescue Grogu, reasserting himself as a formidable force on Tatooine.
9 ABY - Daimyo of Mos Espa
Boba seizes Jabba the Hutt's former palace and criminal territory, installing himself as the new crime lord, or Daimyo, of Mos Espa and defending his rule against rival syndicates.
