Han Solo was a human smuggler from the Core World of Corellia who rose to become a general and one of the most vital leaders of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Orphaned into the criminal underworld of Corellia, he escaped his homeworld, briefly served as an Imperial cadet, and forged a lifelong friendship with the Wookiee Chewbacca, who swore him a life debt. Alongside his prized ship the Millennium Falcon — won from Lando Calrissian — he became famed for completing the Kessel Run in under twelve parsecs while working for gangsters such as Jabba the Hutt. Drawn into the Rebellion after agreeing to transport Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to Alderaan, he helped rescue Princess Leia Organa, aided in the destruction of the first Death Star at the Battle of Yavin, and fought through Hoth, Bespin, and the Battle of Endor. He later married Leia and fathered Ben Solo, but their son's fall to the dark side as Kylo Ren shattered the family. In 34 ABY, Han was killed by his own son aboard Starkiller Base while trying to bring him home.
