~30 BBY - Birth on Aq Vetina

Din Djarin is born to human parents in a village on the Outer Rim world of Aq Vetina during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Canon never states the year; it is inferred from his apparent age during the Clone Wars-era attack on his home.

~22 BBY - Separatist droids destroy his village

During the Clone Wars, Separatist battle droids overrun Aq Vetina. Din's parents hide him in a cellar and are killed above him; a super battle droid finds the boy but he is saved at the last moment by armored Mandalorians who descend from the sky.

~22 BBY - Taken in as a foundling

Rescued and carried away, Din is brought to Concordia and raised as a foundling by the Children of the Watch, an orthodox splinter sect. He is trained in the Mandalorian fighting arts and swears the Creed, vowing never to remove his helmet before another living being.

~19 BBY-9 ABY - Life in the Tribe

Djarin comes of age within the Watch, eventually operating from a hidden covert on Nevarro. He becomes a bounty hunter with the Bounty Hunters' Guild under Greef Karga, flying the gunship Razor Crest and returning a share of his earnings to the covert.

9 ABY - The commission for the Child

Hired on Nevarro by an Imperial remnant client and Doctor Pershing, Djarin tracks a fifty-year-old asset to Arvala-7, where with the help of the Ugnaught Kuiil and the reprogrammed droid IG-11 he finds an infant of Yoda's species.

9 ABY - Rescue of the Child and flight from Nevarro

After delivering the Child and receiving a camtono of beskar, Djarin turns on his employers and steals the infant back. His covert is exposed defending his escape, and he becomes a hunted man across the Outer Rim.

9 ABY - On the run

Djarin hides on Sorgan, is ambushed by fellow hunters, is betrayed during a heist on an Imperial prison ship, and is nearly killed by the mercenary Fennec Shand's associates on Tatooine — all while keeping the Child alive.

9 ABY - The battle for Nevarro

Returning to Nevarro at Karga's request, Djarin is drawn into a trap by Moff Gideon. Kuiil is killed and IG-11 sacrifices itself, removing Djarin's helmet to heal him — the first time anyone sees his face since he took the Creed. He is charged by the Armorer with reuniting the Child with its own kind.

9 ABY - Searching for the Jedi

Djarin's quest takes him to Tatooine, to Trask where he meets Bo-Katan Kryze and learns the Children of the Watch are a cult rather than mainstream Mandalorians, and to Corvus, where Ahsoka Tano tells him the Child's name is Grogu and sends him to the seeing stone on Tython.

9 ABY - Tython and the loss of the Razor Crest

At the ruins on Tython, Grogu reaches out through the Force while Djarin fends off Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Moff Gideon's dark troopers seize Grogu and Gideon's cruiser destroys the Razor Crest, leaving Djarin without his ship.

9 ABY - Rescue of Grogu and the Darksaber

With Fett, Shand, Kryze, Koska Reeves and Cara Dune, Djarin boards Gideon's cruiser, destroys the dark troopers, and defeats Gideon in single combat — unknowingly winning the Darksaber and its claim to rule Mandalore. Luke Skywalker arrives to take Grogu for training, and Djarin removes his helmet to say goodbye.

9 ABY - The battle of Mos Espa

Recruited by Boba Fett, Djarin fights alongside him against the Pyke Syndicate on Tatooine. He acquires a Naboo N-1 starfighter to replace the Razor Crest, is exiled by the Armorer for having bared his face, and is reunited with Grogu, who chooses him over the Jedi path.

9 ABY - Redemption in the Living Waters

Seeking atonement, Djarin travels to the ruins of Mandalore and descends into the mines beneath the Civic Center. He bathes in the Living Waters and is pulled out by Bo-Katan Kryze, who in doing so sees the mythosaur below; both are declared redeemed by the Armorer.

9 ABY - Uniting the clans

Djarin and Kryze bring the Children of the Watch and the exiled Nite Owls together. Djarin gives the Darksaber to Kryze, telling the covert she recovered it from an enemy and so returned it freely — clearing the way for her to lead.

9 ABY - The retaking of Mandalore

The united clans invade Mandalore, are ambushed by Moff Gideon's remnant and his beskar-armored praetorian guard, and fight their way through. Gideon is killed, Mandalore is reclaimed for resettlement, and Djarin's ally Paz Vizsla falls in the battle.

9 ABY - Marshal of Nevarro

Djarin takes a commission as an independent contractor for the New Republic under Captain Carson Teva, formally adopts Grogu as his apprentice — "Din Grogu" — and settles into a cabin on Nevarro, taking bounty work as it comes.
