Rotta the Hutt was born in 23 BBY.

Rotta, commonly called Rotta the Hutt and nicknamed "Pedunkee Mufkin" by his father and "Stinky" by Ahsoka Tano, is a male Hutt and the son of the Tatooine crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Born shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, he became a galactic flashpoint as an infant when Count Dooku and the Confederacy of Independent Systems — aided by his treacherous great-uncle Ziro the Hutt — arranged his abduction by Asajj Ventress, intending to frame the Jedi Order for the crime and wreck negotiations that would have opened Hutt-controlled hyperspace lanes to the Galactic Republic. Anakin Skywalker and his new Padawan Ahsoka Tano tracked the huttlet to a B'omarr monastery on Teth and fought their way out with him; Rotta fell gravely ill during the flight to Tatooine and survived largely because of Ahsoka's care. After the pair evaded Dooku's attempt to kill the child and pin it on the Jedi, Rotta was returned to his father, and the Hutts granted the Republic passage through their space. He was later seen at Jabba's Palace during Baron Notluwiski Papanoida's visit. Rotta survived his father's death above the Great Pit of Carkoon and, by the New Republic era, had grown into a heavily muscled arena gladiator, becoming the object of a rescue mission undertaken by Din Djarin and Grogu on the New Republic's behalf.

~23 BBY - Birth

Rotta is born to Jabba Desilijic Tiure, the Hutt crime lord who rules Tatooine from his palace in the Dune Sea. Canon never states his birth year outright; it can only be placed sometime between 24 BBY and 22 BBY, shortly before the Clone Wars.

22 BBY - Abducted by the Separatists

In the opening months of the Clone Wars, the infant Rotta is kidnapped by Asajj Ventress on Count Dooku's orders, in a plot secretly aided by his great-uncle Ziro the Hutt. The Separatists intend to blame the Jedi and prevent an alliance between the Republic and the Hutt Clan.

22 BBY - Rescue on Teth

Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his newly assigned Padawan Ahsoka Tano assault the B'omarr monastery on Teth and recover the huttlet, whom Ahsoka dubs "Stinky."

22 BBY - Illness aboard the Twilight

Rotta falls dangerously ill during the flight to Tatooine and nearly dies. Ahsoka's persistent care keeps him alive long enough to reach his father.

22 BBY - Returned to Jabba

After Anakin defeats Dooku's attempt to murder the child and frame the Jedi, and Padmé Amidala exposes Ziro's treachery, Rotta is delivered safely to Jabba's Palace. A grateful Jabba grants the Republic military access to Hutt Space hyperlanes.

~21 BBY - At his father's court

Rotta is present in Jabba's Palace when Baron Notluwiski Papanoida of Pantora comes seeking help in recovering his kidnapped daughters.

4 ABY - Death of Jabba

Jabba the Hutt is killed above the Great Pit of Carkoon during Luke Skywalker's rescue of Han Solo, and his criminal empire on Tatooine fragments. Rotta is not present and survives his father.

~9 ABY - Gladiator in the New Republic era

Now a grown, unusually muscular Hutt fighting as an arena gladiator, Rotta becomes the target of a New Republic-sanctioned rescue: Din Djarin and Grogu are sent to retrieve him in exchange for information from the Hutt Clan.
