Babu Frik was born in 50 BBY.

Babu Frik was an Anzellan male droidsmith who lived during the New Republic Era and the war between the First Order and the Resistance. Tiny in stature and highly accented in his speech, he maintained a workshop in the mountain city of Kijimi, where he worked as a black-market droidsmith among the Spice Runners of Kijimi. Renowned as one of the finest droidsmiths in the galaxy, he could reprogram or modify virtually any droid regardless of the security measures protecting its systems. He is best known for his role in the search for Emperor Palpatine, when the Resistance brought the protocol droid C-3PO to him so he could bypass the droid's programming restrictions and translate a forbidden inscription in the Sith language, a procedure that wiped C-3PO's memory. A fan-favorite introduced in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, Babu Frik became emblematic of his species, the Anzellans.

35 ABY - Reprogramming C-3PO

During the Resistance's search for the Sith wayfinder, Poe Dameron leads Rey and the others to Babu Frik on Kijimi. Because C-3PO is forbidden by his programming to translate the Sith text held in his memory bank, Babu Frik bypasses those restrictions to read the inscription aloud, an act that erases the protocol droid's memory.

35 ABY - Survival on Kijimi

After aiding the Resistance, Babu Frik survives the events surrounding the final campaign against the Sith Eternal. Canon records no death for him.
