Count Dooku's Timeline
Key Events in Count Dooku's Star Wars Story
Count Dooku (Darth Tyranus) was born in 102 BBY and died in 19 BBY.
Count Dooku, also known by his Sith title Darth Tyranus, was a Force-sensitive human male born into the noble ruling family of Serenno. Trained as a Jedi by Grand Master Yoda, he became one of the Order's most respected swordmasters and lightsaber duelists, but grew disillusioned with the Jedi's subservience to a Republic he saw as corrupt. Following the death of his former Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku left the Jedi Order, reclaimed his hereditary title of Count of Serenno, and secretly became the second Sith apprentice of Darth Sidious. As the public leader and Head of State of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, he ignited and led the Separatist cause during the Clone Wars, orchestrating the conflict as part of Sidious's plan to destroy the Jedi and seize control of the galaxy. He trained dark side agents such as Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress and dueled the galaxy's greatest Jedi. Ultimately, Dooku was betrayed by his own master: during the Battle of Coruscant he was defeated and executed by Anakin Skywalker at Sidious's command, a casualty of the very Sith treachery he had embraced.

~32 BBY - Becoming Darth Tyranus
Dooku is taken as the second apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, adopting the identity Darth Tyranus. On Sidious's orders he arranges for the creation of a secret clone army on Kamino under the name of the late Jedi Sifo-Dyas.

As Head of State of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Dooku directs the Separatist war effort, trains dark side agents such as Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress, and repeatedly clashes with Jedi across the galaxy.
19 BBY - Death at the Battle of Coruscant
During the Separatist assault on Coruscant, Dooku duels Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi aboard the flagship Invisible Hand. Anakin overpowers and disarms him, then decapitates him at Palpatine's command—revealing Dooku had been a disposable pawn in his own master's scheme.
