Ezra Bridger is a human Force-sensitive from the planet Lothal who became a Jedi Padawan, con artist turned freedom fighter, and revolutionary leader in the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Born on Empire Day in 19 BBY to Ephraim and Mira Bridger, he was orphaned as a boy after his parents were imprisoned for broadcasting anti-Imperial messages, and survived alone on Lothal's streets. In 5 BBY he crossed paths with the rebel crew of the starship Ghost and was taken in and trained in the ways of the Force by Kanan Jarrus. Bridger's abilities grew rapidly, and his broadcast message of hope helped unite scattered rebel cells. He is best known for his central role in Star Wars Rebels, culminating in the liberation of Lothal, when he sacrificed his freedom to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn by having purrgil pull Thrawn's flagship — with Ezra aboard — into hyperspace and out of the galaxy. Long presumed lost, he was revealed alive on the distant world of Peridea and returned to the known galaxy in the New Republic era during the Ahsoka series.

Ezra Bridger is born on Lothal to Ephraim and Mira Bridger on the very day the Galactic Empire is proclaimed, making his birthday coincide with Empire Day.

~12 BBY - Orphaned

His parents are arrested and imprisoned by the Empire for broadcasting messages criticizing Imperial rule, leaving the young Ezra to fend for himself as a street orphan on Lothal.

5 BBY - Joining the Ghost crew

Ezra encounters the rebel crew of the Ghost during a raid on Imperial cargo and joins them, beginning his training in the Force under Kanan Jarrus (events of the Star Wars Rebels pilot, "Spark of Rebellion").

After the Battle of Endor, an epilogue shows Ezra's comrades — chiefly Sabine Wren — setting out to find him, as his fate remains unknown to the galaxy.
