Kit Fisto's Timeline
Key Events in Kit Fisto's Star Wars Story
Kit Fisto died in 19 BBY.
Kit Fisto was a Force-sensitive Nautolan male from the ocean world of Glee Anselm who rose to the rank of Jedi Master and served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Amphibious, famously good-humored, and regarded as one of the Order's finest lightsaber duelists — equally deadly on land and underwater — he fought in the Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY that opened the Clone Wars and went on to serve as a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic. Over the course of the war he hunted General Grievous to the Vassek system, where he lost his former Padawan Nahdar Vebb to the cyborg general and only narrowly escaped himself; he later led Republic forces in the underwater campaign on Mon Cala to protect Prince Lee-Char and restore the planet's throne. In 19 BBY, after Anakin Skywalker exposed Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, Fisto joined Mace Windu, Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin in the attempt to arrest him; Sidious cut down all three of Windu's companions within seconds, and Fisto died in the Chancellor's office on Coruscant, one of the last Jedi to fall before Order 66 destroyed the Order.
Unknown date - Birth on Glee Anselm
Kit Fisto was born a Nautolan on the ocean world of Glee Anselm. No canon source gives a birth year; he was clearly born decades before the Clone Wars, as he was a seasoned Jedi Master by 22 BBY.
Before 22 BBY - Jedi Master and mentor
Fisto trained in the Jedi Order and attained the rank of Jedi Master, earning a reputation as an exceptional swordsman. He took the Mon Calamari Nahdar Vebb as his Padawan learner.
22 BBY - Battle of Geonosis
Fisto was among the roughly two hundred Jedi who followed Mace Windu to Geonosis to rescue Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala. He survived the arena battle that began the Clone Wars and became a Jedi General of the Grand Army of the Republic.
22 BBY - Hunt for Nute Gunray and the lair of Grievous
Pursuing the escaped Viceroy Nute Gunray, Fisto tracked a Separatist shuttle to a fortress on the third moon of Vassek and reunited with Nahdar Vebb, now a Jedi Knight. The pair instead found General Grievous's private lair. Fisto fought Grievous nearly to a standstill, but Vebb was killed and Fisto was forced to flee with clone commander Fil's squad decimated behind him.
22-19 BBY - Service on the Jedi High Council
Fisto sat on the Jedi High Council during the war, weighing in on the Order's strategy, on the growing entanglement of the Jedi with the Republic military, and on matters such as Ahsoka Tano's trial and Anakin Skywalker's standing.
~21 BBY - The war for Mon Cala
When the Separatists and the Quarren Isolation League overthrew the Mon Calamari monarchy, Fisto led Republic clone forces in the underwater campaign, using his amphibious nature to fight alongside Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Padmé Amidala to protect the young Prince Lee-Char until Gungan reinforcements turned the tide.
19 BBY - The attempt to arrest Palpatine
After Anakin Skywalker revealed that Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, Fisto joined Mace Windu, Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin in confronting the Chancellor in his office on Coruscant to place him under arrest.
19 BBY - Death on Coruscant
Sidious drew his lightsaber and killed Kolar and Tiin almost instantly. Fisto held out only seconds longer before he too was struck down, leaving Windu alone against the Sith Lord moments before Order 66 was issued.
