Rose Tico is a human woman born in 11 ABY on the Otomok-system world of Hays Minor, whose people were exploited and brutalized by the First Order — an experience that fueled her lifelong hatred of the regime. She and her older sister Paige both joined the Resistance, where Rose served as a flight engineer and maintenance technician. She is best known for her role during the war against the First Order: after Paige died as a bomber gunner at the Battle of D'Qar, Rose partnered with the former stormtrooper Finn on a covert mission to the casino city of Canto Bight to find a codebreaker who could disable the First Order's hyperspace tracker. Though the plan failed after they were betrayed by the slicer DJ, Rose fought in the Battle of Crait, where she saved Finn's life by stopping him from a suicidal charge. She continued serving the Resistance through the final campaign against the resurgent Sith Eternal, remaining at the base during the Battle of Exegol, and survived the war.
