Dryden Vos died in 10 BBY.
Dryden Vos is best known as the refined, lethal face of the Crimson Dawn syndicate, a crime lord who hosted the galaxy's elite aboard his yacht First Light while secretly answering to Maul. He rose through the underworld during the Clone Wars as a Crimson Dawn leader within Maul's Shadow Collective, and in the war's last days he got Maul's warning to go into hiding before the Empire took power. In the early Imperial years he offered the hunted former Sith a way off Janix in exchange for Maul removing Crimson Dawn's boss Rintero, then led the extraction himself under stormtrooper fire. He took over the syndicate as its public figurehead, but Maul stayed in control behind him. Vos bought the young Qi'ra, branded her with the syndicate's mark, trained her in Teräs Käsi and made her his top lieutenant. In 10 BBY, after Tobias Beckett's crew lost a coaxium shipment on Vandor, Vos sent them to raid the Kessel mines instead, a job that brought Han Solo into his orbit. When the deal fell apart over Savareen, Vos turned on Han, and Qi'ra killed him in his own study. She then used his signet ring to report his death to Maul, blamed it on Beckett, and took his place.
Clone Wars - Rising Star of Crimson Dawn
Serves as a leader in Crimson Dawn under Boss Rintero after the syndicate joins Maul's Shadow Collective. He becomes a lieutenant in the alliance.
19 BBY - Ordered into Hiding
Maul contacts him by hologram, along with Marg Krim of the Pyke Syndicate and Ziton Moj of Black Sun. Maul foresees the end of the Clone Wars and tells the syndicate leaders to go into hiding.
~17–13 BBY - Bargain with Maul
Crimson Dawn has abandoned Maul, who is now trapped on Janix. After the assassination of Marg Krim, Vos reaches Maul through Looti Vario. He offers Maul safe passage off Janix if Maul kills Rintero and makes Vos head of Crimson Dawn.
~17–13 BBY - Extraction from Janix
Vos flies in on a Crimson Dawn shuttle and shoots down an Imperial gunship. He holds off stormtroopers at the landing ramp until Maul and his allies are aboard, then escapes into hyperspace.
~17–13 BBY - Figurehead of Crimson Dawn
Replaces Rintero as Crimson Dawn's public leader but remains subordinate to Maul, whom he contacts through a holographic signet ring. He runs the syndicate from his yacht, the First Light, which holds his collection of antiquities.
After 13 BBY - Acquiring Qi'ra
Buys Qi'ra from Sarkin Enneb and brands her with the Crimson Dawn mark. He trains her in martial arts, including Teräs Käsi, and makes her his top lieutenant.
~10 BBY - Beckett's Debt
Pays Tobias Beckett a bonus for killing Aurra Sing. Beckett later owes Vos a shipment of coaxium.
10 BBY - Failure on Vandor
Beckett's crew fails to steal coaxium from an Imperial conveyex because Enfys Nest's Cloud-Riders intervene. Beckett and his new recruit, Han Solo, come to the First Light to face Vos.
10 BBY - The Kessel Plan
Vos threatens Beckett but is persuaded by Han and Qi'ra to back a raid on the Kessel spice mines for unrefined coaxium, despite the risk of angering the Pykes. Qi'ra goes with the crew.
10 BBY - Death on Savareen
Warned by Beckett, Vos confronts Han on Savareen. Vos believes the coaxium is fake, but it is the real shipment. He fights Han and then Qi'ra with his petars, and Qi'ra kills him in his study. She uses his ring to tell Maul that Beckett killed Vos and takes over his position.
