21 BBY - Birth on Vallt

Born to Galen and Lyra Erso inside the Separatist Tambolor prison on Vallt, where her father was being held for refusing to help the Confederacy.

~20 BBY - Rescue to Coruscant

About six months old when Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic of the Republic extracts the family and brings them to the Institute of Applied Science on Coruscant.

~20 BBY - Move to Lokori

The family relocates to Lokori after Krennic arranges for Galen to take a position with Helical HyperCom.

19 BBY - Battle on Lokori

Trapped with her parents as Separatist droids overrun the Helical HyperCom facility, the family survives only because the droids shut down when the Clone Wars end.

~19 BBY - Life inside Project Celestial Power

Grows up in the project complex on Coruscant, mostly in the care of the nanny droid Mac-Vee, while her father's kyber research is secretly turned toward a superweapon.

~18 BBY - Trip to Alpinn

At age three, travels with her mother, Has Obitt and Nari Sable to an archaeological dig on Alpinn.

~17 BBY - Flight from Coruscant

At four, escapes the Empire with her parents aboard Saw Gerrera's ship and helps choose Lah'mu as their hiding place.

~17–13 BBY - Childhood on Lah'mu

Grows up on an isolated skycorn farm, taught at home by her mother and drilled in the family's emergency plans.

13 BBY - Loss of her parents

Krennic and his death troopers arrive at the homestead. Lyra is killed, Galen is taken away, and Jyn hides in the family's bunker until Saw Gerrera comes to rescue her.

~13 BBY - Taken in by Saw Gerrera

Brought to Saw's hidden outpost on Wrea and trained there in blasters, truncheons, hand-to-hand combat and forging codes.

~10 BBY - Meeting Enfys Nest

At eleven, goes with Saw to meet Enfys Nest and the Cloud-Riders, who offer him coaxium for the fight against the Empire.

~9 BBY - Meeting Arhul Nemo

At twelve, meets Arhul Nemo of the Commenor Underground.

~9–5 BBY - Partisan missions

Takes part in Partisan operations, including her first solo mission to Horuz and the massacre on Inusagi, where her friend Maia is killed.

~5 BBY - Abandoned on Tamsye Prime

At sixteen, after Reece Tallent betrays a mission, Saw leaves her hidden in a bunker and never returns. She escapes the planet on her own.

~5 BBY - Life on Skuhl

Taken in by freighter captain Akshaya Ponta. On Skuhl she begins a relationship with Akshaya's son, Hadder.

~4 BBY - Escape from Skuhl

Stormtroopers raid the Ponta home and the family flees. Hadder and Akshaya die when their freighter is destroyed, and Jyn reaches Five Points station alone.

~4 BBY - Forger for Lucka Solange

On Five Points, she is pressed into forging casino credits for Imperial Commander Lucka Solange.

~4–1 BBY - Years as a criminal

Drifts across the galaxy as a forger, smuggler and petty criminal under aliases such as Liana Hallik and Tanith Ponta. On Garel she rescues a girl's tooka-cat from stormtroopers.

1 BBY - Imprisoned on Wobani

Arrested as "Liana Hallik" and sentenced to twenty years at the Wobani labor camp. She helps Dunning Tredup's crew escape but gives herself up to save Theera.

1 BBY - Freed by the Rebellion

Freed during a prisoner transfer by a Rebel team including K-2SO, and recruited by Mon Mothma and Cassian Andor to find Saw Gerrera.

1 BBY - Jedha

Reunites with Saw on Jedha and sees her father's message about the Death Star's hidden flaw, just before the Death Star destroys Jedha City.

1 BBY - Eadu

Reaches her father on Eadu only to see him mortally wounded in a Rebel airstrike. He dies in her arms.

1 BBY - Rogue One

After the Alliance Council refuses to act, she and Cassian lead a volunteer squad to Scarif under the call sign Rogue One.

1 BBY - Death on Scarif

Steals the Death Star plans from the Citadel and transmits them to the Rebel fleet. She dies beside Cassian Andor when the Death Star fires on Scarif.
