Obi-Wan Kenobi's loyal astromech through the last years of the Republic, R4-P17 was a cautious but quick-reacting droid with feminine programming, recognizable by the red replacement dome she wore on her white body. She rode in the socket of Kenobi's starfighter when he investigated the plot against Senator Padmé Amidala, which took them to Kamino and a dogfight with Slave I before they reached Geonosis. She stayed with him once the Clone Wars broke out. She fended off scavenging Jawas on Tatooine with her shock prod, flew his fighter by herself above Teth after he leapt into the battle below, and went with him on missions to Rodia and Mandalore. She was also with him when Asajj Ventress shot them down at Sullust. Her service ended in the war's final days during the Battle of Coruscant, when buzz droids swarmed Kenobi's interceptor near General Grievous's flagship and sawed off her dome before his warning could help. R4-G9 took her place for the mission to Utapau.

Rides in the droid socket of Kenobi's Delta-7 starfighter while he traces the assassin who tried to kill Padmé Amidala, and helps him evade Jango Fett's Slave I.

22 BBY - Geonosis

Goes with Kenobi to Geonosis, where he uncovers the Separatist droid army just before the Clone Wars begin.

~22 BBY - Tatooine and Jabba's Palace

While guarding Kenobi's starfighter during talks with Jabba the Hutt, she shocks a Jawa with her prod and drives off the scavengers.

Pilots Kenobi's starfighter on her own after he jumps from it to join the fight on the ground during the rescue of Jabba's son.

Travels with Kenobi to Rodia to stop Cad Bane from kidnapping Force-sensitive children.

Rolls through the Temple corridors alongside R4-M1 while Kenobi and Mace Windu discuss Yoda.

19 BBY - Destroyed at the Battle of Coruscant

Buzz droids land on Kenobi's Eta-2 interceptor as he approaches the Invisible Hand to rescue Chancellor Palpatine, and they saw off her dome before his warning can help.

19 BBY - Replaced by R4-G9

R4-G9 takes over as Kenobi's astromech for his mission to Utapau.
